Chapter 5 Integrals

This chapter introduces two surprisingly related mathematical questions: recovering a quantity from information about its rate of change, like recovering position from velocity or from acceleration, and calculating the areas of regions, going beyond the results for polygons and circles learnt in geometry.

We also learn some basic methods for evaluating these results, akin to the methods for differentiation learnt in Chapter 4, but there is more to this, seen in Calculus 2 (MATH 220).

By the end of this chapter, you should be able to answer all the Concept Check Questions and all the True-False Quiz Questions in the Chapter 5 Review.
